To help bridge that gap, Pear has created something unique: a platform that transforms your sleep data into a universal “Vibe Score,” connecting people through shared health goals. Rather than creating another social platform that encourages mindless scrolling, Pear delivers something straightforward and powerful by creating a community focused on genuine wellness through one core metric that matters.

Founded by brothers Mich and Andy Manaras, Pear bridges technology and community by extracting meaningful data from existing wearables like Apple Watch, Whoop, and Oura Ring and bringing users together to celebrate wins, encourage each other, and deepen accountability. This integration allows users from different device ecosystems to connect, compete, and support each other based on their sleep quality, heart metrics, and overall “vibe.” The platform addresses our fundamental human need for connection while actually improving health outcomes.

Understanding the Vibe Score

When I first met Mich and Andy, we were at the Connected Health and Fitness event in Los Angeles. I started a conversation because I liked their company hats, which read “Major Vibes.” I complimented them, and in turn, I got a rundown of Pear, the Vibe Score, and the chance to share an up-and-coming brand I believe is addressing a way to improve the critical loneliness epidemic. While the app is still in its beta phase, it will be available to everyone this summer. The website is currently open to sign up for the beta waitlist.

Unlike complicated health apps that overwhelm with data, Pear distills key information into a single metric that anyone can understand, a “vibe”.

This approach creates self-awareness without demanding technical knowledge. As the brothers explained to me, the goal is to help everyday people optimize themselves, not just serve biohackers already tracking every bodily function. The Vibe Score allows users to observe behavioral patterns and understand how actions like late-night scrolling, evening walks, or consistent bedtimes directly affect how they feel the next day. This awareness empowers users to become “the driver of their ship rather than in the backseat of it.”

Building Tribes Through Technology

Pear remakes wellness tracking from a solitary activity into a community experience through its “tribes” concept. These small, intimate groups function like “a group chat with a pulse,” allowing friends, family members, or workout buddies to share their Vibe Scores, celebrate improvements, and offer support during challenging periods.
