FitFixNow: A Legacy of Affordable Education for Fitness Professionals

The fitness industry presents many challenges for professionals trying to make a living while maintaining their certifications. Personal trainers and group fitness instructors often work paycheck to paycheck, making additional expenses for continuing education difficult to manage. Luckily, FitFixNow exists. A platform created to address this pain point, making continuing education accessible to fitness professionals who need it most.

Christine Conti, the current owner of FitFixNow, shared her story of how this educational platform began with a professor’s frustration and grew into a solution for an industry-wide problem. What started as a personal project has become a mission to support fitness professionals globally with affordable continuing education credits.

A Foundation Born from Personal Experience

FitFixNow originated in 1999 when Jane Curth, a kinesiology and exercise science professor at Georgia State University, began putting educational content online. After taking a course about online education in 1998, she started creating digital resources for her college students. These initial two-to-three-hour courses weren’t monetized but were created out of passion and a desire to help.

The turning point came when Curth’s ACE certification expired. Frustrated by the lack of accessible recertification options, she realized she could use her expertise to solve this problem for others. She partnered with certification providers to offer her educational courses as continuing education credits, addressing a need she had personally experienced.

From these humble beginnings, FitFixNow grew steadily at 15 to 20 percent per year through Google ads alone, with no specific marketing to the fitness industry. It was built with a strong foundation, with quality content from qualified experts, including physical therapists and other highly educated professionals.

A Vision for Accessible Education

Christine Conti, who had written courses for FitFixNow, took ownership when the founder decided to step back. For Conti, acquiring FitFixNow represented a business opportunity and a chance to create a legacy of positive impact in the fitness industry.

“People ask me if I want to change the world or make money,” Conti explained. “That’s not a fair question because I have to pay my bills. But when push comes to shove, I’m here to change the world.”

Conti’s vision centers on making continuing education affordable for everyone in the fitness industry. With course prices ranging from $29 to $59, FitFixNow is a resource rather than a certification provider. This approach supports the ecosystem of established certification organizations while filling a crucial gap for professionals who struggle to afford conferences or travel for continuing education.

The platform currently offers approximately 75 different courses, each providing continuing education credits recognized by major certification organizations. Conti actively seeks partnerships with universities, fitness chains, and boutique studios to make these resources available to their trainers and instructors.

Creating Industry-Wide Change

For Conti, the goal extends beyond individual education. She envisions FitFixNow as a tool that fitness facilities can use to attract and retain talent. By partnering with gyms and studios, she hopes to create a model where continuing education becomes a standard employment benefit.

“How amazing would it be for a company to say, ‘Come work for me, here’s your pay, and all your CECs are included’?” Conti asked. “Let us take that extra burden off of you.”

This approach addresses a significant pain point in the industry: Trainers often have to pay for company-specific training and general recertification. Additional education expenses can be prohibitive for professionals earning $30-50 per class.

Conti is particularly focused on making these partnerships accessible to facilities of all sizes. Whether working with international chains or individual franchise owners, she aims to create affordable solutions that benefit businesses and fitness professionals.

Final Thoughts

The story of FitFixNow demonstrates how personal frustration can spark solutions that address widespread problems. One professor’s attempt to simplify her recertification process has evolved into a platform that could transform how the fitness industry approaches continuing education.

Christine Conti’s leadership brings a fresh perspective on accessibility, affordability, and industry-wide collaboration. FitFixNow addresses the economic challenges that often drive talented professionals away from the industry by creating a mechanism for facilities to provide continuing education as an employment benefit. This approach recognizes that supporting fitness professionals’ development benefits everyone—the professionals themselves, the facilities where they work, and ultimately, the clients they serve.
