Every day, coaches show up early, stay late, and pour their energy into helping others achieve what once seemed impossible. They’re the ones writing personalized programs at midnight, sending encouraging texts before 6 AM workouts, and celebrating every client victory like it’s their own. These professionals form the backbone of health and wellness, yet their contributions often go unrecognized.
Coach360 is changing that narrative. The Top 25 Most Inspiring Coaches of 2025 initiative spotlights the individuals who make this industry remarkable. This celebration acknowledges the dedication, expertise, and heart that coaches bring to their work every single day. After nominating and voting, the results are in, and the report is ready for your eyes.Â
The fitness profession demands a unique combination of technical knowledge, emotional intelligence, and unwavering commitment. Coaches navigate early morning sessions and late evening appointments, often sacrificing personal time to accommodate client schedules. They study constantly to stay current with exercise science, nutrition research, and injury prevention techniques. They become confidants, cheerleaders, and accountability partners all while maintaining professional boundaries.
Despite these significant contributions, the industry rarely provides platforms for coaches to share their stories or receive public acknowledgment. Many work in relative anonymity, their impact measured only in the transformed lives of their clients rather than broader professional recognition. This gap in visibility affects career advancement, earning potential, and the overall perception of coaching as a profession.
Coach360 created the Top 25 Most Inspiring Coaches initiative to address this imbalance. The program provides coaches with a platform to showcase their expertise, share their philosophies, and connect with a broader audience. By highlighting exceptional professionals, Coach360 aims to elevate the entire coaching community and demonstrate the profound impact these individuals have on their clients and the industry.
We’re so excited to announce that the winners of the Top 25 Most Inspiring Coaches have been voted for, and have solidified their spot as the best of the best.
Voting concluded with overwhelming participation from the fitness community. Clients, colleagues, and industry professionals submitted nominations and cast votes, making selections based on factors like coaching excellence, client outcomes, professional development, and community impact. The response demonstrated the depth of people’s appreciation for their coaches and employees and their desire to see them celebrated.
The Top 25 Most Inspiring Coaches of 2025 report features profiles of each honoree. These coaches represent diverse specialties—from strength and conditioning to pilates, from rehabilitation to performance training. They work in various settings: boutique studios, large gym chains, private practice, and online platforms. What unites them is their exceptional dedication to their craft and their clients. While they all serve differently, they all have one thing in common—they inspire, motivate, and make a difference.Â
The report is free and accessible to everyone interested in learning about coaching excellence. Whether you’re a fitness professional seeking inspiration, a facility owner looking to understand what great coaching looks like, or simply someone who appreciates the work coaches do, this publication offers valuable perspectives.
Coaches help shape bodies, but more importantly, they’re shaping lives. A client who builds confidence in the gym carries that self-assurance into job interviews, relationships, and personal challenges. Someone who learns to push through difficult workouts discovers they can handle difficult conversations. The person who finally achieves a fitness goal they thought was impossible starts believing other dreams might be within reach, too.
These 25 coaches represent thousands of professionals who show up with this same dedication every single day. Nearly 100 percent annual turnover. That’s the stark reality facing the fitness industry, where qualified professionals cycle through positions at an alarming rate. Coaches and trainers accept whatever opportunity comes their way, often without considering whether the role aligns with their career goals, values, or growth potential. Meanwhile, gyms and studios struggle to retain talent, watching as their investment in training and development walks out the door within months.
Coaches grab available positions without clarity on advancement opportunities, competitive compensation, or cultural fit. Facilities hire whoever applies without communicating their unique mission or what makes them an exceptional place to build a career. The result? A revolving door that drains resources and potential from everyone involved.
Coach360 approaches career development differently. Rather than functioning as a standard job board, the platform conducts in-depth conversations with hiring managers, CEOs, and training directors to understand what makes each organization distinct. These discussions uncover the details that matter: company culture, growth trajectories, compensation structures, benefits packages, and the qualities that define an ideal team member.
The information gathered during these interviews becomes the foundation for detailed brand stories published in the Coach360 newsletter. These narratives go beyond what appears on a company website, offering genuine insight into daily operations, leadership philosophy, and advancement possibilities. Coaches reading these stories gain a comprehensive understanding of potential employers before they ever apply.
Every position featured on the Coach360 platform includes these thoroughly researched narratives alongside traditional job descriptions. Fitness professionals can browse opportunities while learning about organizational values, team dynamics, and what makes each facility unique. This level of transparency allows coaches to identify roles that genuinely align with their professional aspirations rather than settling for whatever happens to be available.
The platform addresses a crucial gap in how fitness professionals and employers connect. Most hiring happens through generic job postings that list requirements and responsibilities without conveying the substance of the opportunity. Coaches submit applications to dozens of positions, hoping something works out. Facilities review resumes, looking for certifications and experience, without understanding each candidate’s motivation or personality.Â
Coach360 changes this dynamic by telling complete stories. When a boutique pilates studio posts a position, the listing includes details about their teaching methodology, client demographics, opportunities for continuing education, and what a typical week looks like for instructors. Coaches learn about compensation ranges, benefits like 401(k) plans, and whether the facility offers paths to management or specialized training roles.
This approach benefits both parties. Fitness professionals apply to positions where they can envision building a long-term career rather than just filling a short-term need. They understand the culture they’re entering and whether the facility’s values align with their own. Gyms and studios receive applications from candidates who have already determined they’re genuinely interested in what the organization offers, leading to better retention and stronger team cohesion.
The platform also addresses practical considerations that often get overlooked in traditional hiring processes. A strength and conditioning coach might prioritize competitive pay and flexible scheduling to support a growing family. A newly certified instructor might value comprehensive training programs and mentorship opportunities over immediate salary. Someone with years of experience might seek a facility that offers equity stakes or the potential for a partnership. Coach360’s detailed listings surface these preferences early, preventing mismatches that lead to turnover.
The interview process with facilities digs into specifics that distinguish great workplaces from average ones. Questions explore how leadership handles conflicts, approaches professional development, and supports work-life balance. The conversations reveal whether a gym celebrates innovation or prefers established routines, whether instructors have autonomy in class design or follow strict programming, and whether the organization views its team as hourly workers or career professionals.
These distinctions matter significantly. A high-energy group fitness instructor who thrives on creativity and spontaneity would likely struggle in an environment that demands identical class execution across all sessions. Someone seeking stability and clear protocols might feel overwhelmed at a startup studio where roles constantly evolve. Coach360’s narrative approach surfaces these cultural elements early, allowing both parties to make informed decisions.
The platform also highlights growth opportunities. Some facilities offer pathways into studio management, program design, or marketing roles. Others offer opportunities to specialize in areas such as post-rehabilitation training, athletic performance, or wellness coaching. Several organizations support continuing education through tuition reimbursement or paid time off for certification programs. These details help coaches envision a five or ten-year trajectory rather than just their next paycheck.
The fitness industry’s turnover crisis stems from a fundamental misalignment between how talent and opportunities connect. When coaches and facilities lack the information needed to make strategic decisions, everyone settles for good enough rather than pursuing the right fit. This pattern wastes potential on both sides of the equation.
Building sustainable careers in fitness demands access to information that helps professionals evaluate opportunities against their personal and professional criteria. It also demands that facilities articulate their value proposition clearly, attracting candidates who resonate with their mission and approach. When both parties enter relationships with eyes open, understanding what they’re committing to and what they can expect in return, the industry shifts from constant churn to meaningful longevity. That shift creates better experiences for coaches, stronger teams for facilities, and ultimately, higher quality service for clients.

Recovery generally isn’t the most glamorous or well-loved part of fitness. Yet recovery is where real progress happens. Torn muscle fibers rebuild stronger, depleted energy stores refill, and your body adapts to become more capable.
While training breaks your body down, recovery builds it back up. Foam rolling, stretching, ice baths, and massage guns are typical favorite recovery tools, but supplements can also make a measurable difference in your recovery program.
Your body is constantly balancing two states: breakdown and repair. Training tips that balance toward breakdown. Sleep, nutrition, and proper supplementation tip it back toward repair.
During intense exercise, your muscles develop microtears, glycogen stores drain, inflammation rises, and oxidative stress increases. Your body then has to reverse all of this while you sleep, eat, and rest. The process works naturally, but targeted supplementation can accelerate it.
Quality recovery supplements address multiple pathways simultaneously. Protein provides amino acids for muscle repair. Creatine replenishes ATP stores and reduces cellular stress, and minerals like magnesium and zinc support enzymatic processes. Adaptogens help manage cortisol. Sleep aids improve the quality of your most important recovery window.

What makes it the best: Most recovery drinks focus solely on rehydration. AFTERDRINK®  addresses the full spectrum of recovery stressors: inflammation, nutrient depletion, oxidative stress, and cellular repair.
The formula packs 21 active ingredients into three capsules. Dihydromyricetin (DHM), the lead ingredient at 350mg, has been studied for its effects on GABA receptors and metabolic processes. The formula includes milk thistle for liver support, Korean panax ginseng for adaptation to stress, prickly pear cactus extract for cellular protection, and ginger root for inflammation management.
AFTERDRINK® also delivers comprehensive B-vitamin support (B1, B2, B3, B6, B5), which plays a role in energy metabolism and cellular function. Amino acids like L-cysteine and L-theanine support glutathione production and promote calm focus. Minerals, including magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper, and manganese, support enzymatic processes throughout recovery.
Third-party testing confirms the formula is free from bacteria, fungus, and heavy metals. Made in GMP-certified facilities in the USA, each batch undergoes independent verification. The comprehensive approach—addressing hydration, inflammation, nutrient gaps, and cellular stress—sets this apart from single-ingredient recovery drinks.
Made by: Transparent Labs
What makes it the best: Sleep is the body’s primary recovery window. During deep sleep stages, growth hormone peaks, protein synthesis accelerates, and immune function strengthens. Transparent Labs Sleep & Recover optimizes this window without leaving you groggy.
The formula features MicroActive® Melatonin, a controlled-release version that maintains steady blood levels throughout the night rather than spiking and crashing. This mimics natural melatonin patterns better than standard formulations.
VitaCherry® tart cherry extract (500mg) delivers anthocyanins that have been studied for their effects on inflammation and oxidative stress. L-theanine (200mg) promotes relaxation, and L-glycine (1000mg) has been researched for its impact on sleep quality and body temperature regulation.
The mineral blend includes zinc citrate (15mg) and magnesium taurinate (70mg)—bioavailable forms that support hundreds of enzymatic reactions involved in recovery. Vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate (the active form) helps convert tryptophan to serotonin. Rutaecarpine (100mg) may help metabolize caffeine, clearing any residual stimulants from your system.
Available with or without melatonin, this non-habit-forming formula addresses multiple sleep and recovery pathways. Users report falling asleep faster, sleeping more soundly, and waking up without the grogginess common with single-ingredient sleep aids.

What makes it the best: Post-workout protein absorption matters as much as protein content. Phormula-1 uses low-temperature processed, cross-flow micro-filtrated whey protein isolate, which is a premium sourcing method that preserves heat-sensitive protein fractions while removing excess lactose and fat.
This natural ceramic filtration process (no chemicals or plastics) yields whey protein isolate that’s highly bioavailable. The rapid digestion rate makes it particularly effective for post-workout use, when muscles are primed for nutrient uptake. It also works well first thing in the morning to halt overnight catabolism.
Each serving delivers a complete amino acid profile, including all nine essential amino acids your body can’t produce. The ingredients include no artificial flavors, colors, or unnecessary additives, and you can find flavors like Chocolate Milkshake, Salted Peanut Butter, and Strawberry. Phormula-1 mixes smoothly and tastes noticeably better than bargain-bin protein powders. The 98% recommendation rate from users reflects both the quality of the protein and the experience of drinking it.
Whether you’re training for strength, endurance, or body composition changes, the protein in Phormula-1 supports muscle repair, growth, and recovery between training sessions.
Made by: BullFit
What makes it the best: Creatine is one of the most researched supplements in sports nutrition. It replenishes ATP (your muscles’ immediate energy source), supports protein synthesis, and may improve recovery between high-intensity efforts.
Based Creatine delivers five grams of pure, micronized creatine monohydrate per scoop. Micronization breaks creatine particles into smaller sizes, improving mixability and absorption. With no flavors, sweeteners, or fillers, and at 75 servings per bottle, it’s also economical compared to fancier creatine formulations.
For athletes training multiple times per week, creatine supplementation can shorten recovery windows and improve performance across sessions. The unflavored format of Based Creatine makes it easy to stack with other supplements without flavor clashing.
The fastest way to stall progress is to keep pushing without adequate repair. Training breaks you down. Recovery builds you back up. That’s the cycle—and skipping half of it means skipping half of your progress.Â
Pick supplements that address your weak points. Can’t sleep? Fix that first. Struggling with muscle soreness that lingers for days? Look at protein timing and anti-inflammatory support. Look at the places that need the most assistance, and start your recovery journey where you’re at.Â

Each October, Las Vegas becomes home to the sport’s most respected competition. The 2025 Olympia took place from October 9-12 at Resorts World Theatre, gathering elite athletes from around the globe to compete across 11 divisions. This weekend represents the culmination of years of dedication, discipline, and sacrifice for competitors who push human physiology to its absolute limits.
Derek Lunsford captured his second Mr. Olympia title in the Men’s Open division, completing a triple crown by winning the Arnold Classic and Pittsburgh Pro earlier in the year. He joined Jay Cutler as only the second bodybuilder in history to regain the Mr. Olympia title after previously losing it. The women’s divisions showcased equally impressive performances, with Andrea Shaw claiming her sixth consecutive Ms. Olympia championship and Maureen Blanquisco earning her first Bikini Olympia title.
The Olympia stage offers the highest level of competitive bodybuilding. Athletes spend years preparing their bodies through precise nutrition protocols, calculated training splits, and meticulous attention to every detail of their physique. This competition separates good bodybuilders from great ones through an assessment of muscle size, symmetry, conditioning, and stage presence.
The Men’s Open division saw one of the closest competitions in recent history, with Derek Lunsford earning the title through his complete conditioning and fuller upper body development. Remarkably, Lunsford battled illness during the individual posing round but still presented an undeniable package that earned him the $600,000 top prize. Hadi Choopan secured second place with his signature granite conditioning, while Andrew Jacked delivered a career-defining performance to claim bronze.
Andrea Shaw’s sixth consecutive Ms. Olympia title solidified her place among the all-time greats. Her dominance in the division continues to set the standard for female bodybuilding, combining mass, conditioning, and presentation that few can match.
The Bikini division saw a changing of the guard as Maureen Blanquisco claimed the top Olympia title. Blanquisco’s balanced proportions, muscle maturity, and confident stage presence earned her the crown in one of the most competitive divisions of the weekend. Competitors in this category must strike a careful balance—too much muscle loses the aesthetic judges seek, while insufficient development won’t stand out on the Olympia stage.
Eduarda Bezerra took home the Wellness division win, which is in its fifth year at Olympia, and is only the third woman to join that rank. Natalia Abraham Coelho took the Women’s Physique Olympia title, while Michelle Fredua-Mensah took Fitness Olympia, and Rhea Gayle won the Figure division.
Behind every Olympia champion stands a team of specialists who guide their preparation. Coaches analyze weekly progress photos, adjust macronutrient targets, modify training protocols, and make critical decisions about peak week strategies. These professionals understand the nuances of bringing an athlete to their absolute best on competition day.
The relationship between coach and athlete becomes paramount during the final weeks before competition. Water manipulation, carbohydrate loading, sodium intake, and training adjustments must be timed perfectly. A coach who has worked with multiple Olympia competitors brings invaluable experience to these decisions, recognizing subtle signs that indicate whether an athlete is on track or needs immediate intervention.
Many top bodybuilders work with the same coach for years, building trust and understanding that allows for precise adjustments. The ability to stay calm in comparison and radiate confidence, as Lunsford demonstrated despite his illness, often comes from thorough preparation guided by experienced coaching. Coaching decisions can make or break an Olympia run, determining whether an athlete stands on the podium or watches from the audience.
Watching athletes transform their bodies through years of disciplined effort reminds us that meaningful achievement requires sustained commitment. The Olympia showcases what becomes possible when someone dedicates themselves entirely to a goal, supported by expert guidance and an unwavering vision of excellence.
The lessons from this sport extend to any pursuit worth mastering. Strategic planning, attention to detail, recovery management, and performance under pressure apply whether you’re building a business, developing a skill, or chasing personal goals.

Sleep studies have traditionally meant uncomfortable nights in sterile medical facilities, attached to wires while trying to replicate your normal sleep patterns in the least normal environment possible. Empower Sleep rectifies this by bringing sleep analysis directly to your bedroom. The at-home testing captures sleep data while you rest in your own space, maintaining your regular routines and rituals.
What sets Empower Sleep apart from typical sleep tracking devices is what happens after data collection. Many wearables and apps stop at reporting numbers, leaving users to decipher what REM percentages or sleep scores mean for their health. Empower Sleep bridges this by pairing data with expert guidance, creating personalized care plans that address specific sleep challenges with concrete, actionable strategies.
Empower Sleep delivers medical-grade sleep care without requiring you to leave home. The process captures continuous sleep data over 10 to 14 days, rather than relying on a single night’s snapshot, providing a fuller picture of your sleep patterns. This extended tracking period accounts for night-to-night variations that one-time sleep studies miss.
The platform connects users with board-certified sleep medicine physicians who review collected data and create comprehensive care plans. According to their website, “Everyone’s sleep is different, which is why cookie-cutter sleep care doesn’t work.” This philosophy drives their entire model—each assessment considers individual sleep data alongside personal health history to develop targeted protocols.
After testing, users receive detailed reports covering key sleep metrics: total sleep time, apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), sleep quality scores, and sleep stability measurements. The platform includes space for journal entries where users can note factors affecting their rest—stress levels, medication changes, alcohol consumption, travel disruptions, or routine adjustments. This combination of objective data and subjective context gives physicians the complete picture needed for accurate assessment.
My experience with Empower Sleep began shortly after returning from an international trip, a time that proved particularly revealing. The platform assigned me a dedicated medical team, including Dr. Sahil Chopra (Sleep Medicine, Harvard Medical School), Dr. Kristin Knobbe Lloyd (Sleep Medicine, University of Arizona), Dr. Stacey Gunn (Sleep Medicine, Harvard Medical School), and sleep coach Cali Bahrenfuss (CCSH, RPSGT).
Throughout the tracking week, the system monitored my sleep patterns, and I documented jet lag effects and travel-related disruptions in the journal feature. The resulting data clearly showed how international travel impacted my rest quality, but the real value emerged in the personalized feedback document my team created. The care plan addressed my sleep disruption with targeted recommendations for resetting my circadian rhythm and maintaining better sleep quality during future trips.Â
Empower Sleep accepts qualifying insurance plans for virtual provider visits and treatment, making this level of personalized care accessible. Their continuous monitoring approach removes guesswork from sleep health decisions. Instead of wondering whether poor sleep stems from stress, schedule changes, or underlying medical conditions, users get clear answers backed by data their medical team reviews thoroughly.
The platform provides daily statistics alongside weekly averages, helping users spot trends in their sleep quality over time. This longitudinal view proves especially valuable for identifying patterns that might not be obvious night-to-night but become clear when viewed across multiple weeks. Users can correlate specific behaviors or circumstances with sleep quality changes, then work with their medical team to address root causes.
Science has long recognized sleep’s role in recovery and performance, yet practical solutions for addressing sleep issues have remained frustratingly out of reach for most people. Empower Sleep makes sophisticated sleep treatment accessible by eliminating the barriers that typically prevent people from seeking help, like inconvenient facility visits, disruptive testing procedures, and the challenge of accurately capturing typical sleep patterns in artificial environments. By meeting people where they already are—in their own beds—they’ve created a pathway to better sleep that fits into real life.

Hydration has always been a cornerstone of fitness performance, yet it is often overlooked. The focus used to center on drinking enough water throughout the day. Now, people are asking harder questions: What’s actually in the water we’re drinking? The Environmental Working Group’s database reveals alarming truths—Los Angeles Department of Water and Power users consume water with 42 contaminants, including arsenic levels 572 times higher than recommended amounts. That sobering statistic has forced gyms and their members to rethink their relationship with tap water.
This shift in awareness has created an opportunity for companies to address water quality and the environmental costs associated with bottled water alternatives. Two brands are stepping up with solutions designed specifically for fitness environments. FloWater tackles the contamination problem head-on with advanced filtration systems, while Yanga Sports Water reimagines the entire hydration experience. Each brings a distinct approach to solving what has become a critical wellness concern.
Rich “Raz” Razgaitis founded FloWater in 2013 after recognizing a fundamental disconnect in the water industry. People had stopped trusting their tap water, but the available filtration options hadn’t evolved to match modern concerns. The consequences only made it worse as plastic bottle consumption soared, sugary drinks filled the gap, and dehydration became normalized.
FloWater’s response centers on its 7x Advanced Purification system, which removes up to 99.9% of contaminants, including PFAS, microplastics, and lead. The perfect option for gym owners who care about their members’ health, installing a FloWater station addresses concerns about contamination and environmental impact. According to the company’s website counter, FloWater systems have eliminated over 1 billion plastic water bottles from circulation.
The filtration technology matters because standard systems can’t catch everything. PFAS chemicals, microplastics, and heavy metals require specialized removal processes. FloWater’s multi-stage approach handles what basic filters miss, delivering water that members can feel good about drinking.
While FloWater focuses on purification, Yanga Sports Water takes hydration in a different direction. This subscription-based system is exclusive to gym environments, offering members access to a Hydration Station featuring six vitamin-enriched, calorie-free flavors. Options include Berry Boost, Peach Vibe, Passionfruit Burst, Tropical Punch, Lemon Zing, and Coconut Pineapple Breeze.
The model works through a small subscription fee that grants unlimited access to filtered, flavored water. Members fill their reusable bottles at the station, adjusting flavor intensity to personal preference. Each serving contains fewer than five calories, is GMO-free and sugar-free, includes added vitamins, and utilizes Brita filtration as its base. Some flavors include caffeine for pre-workout energy.
Yanga addresses single-use plastic waste while offering fun-flavored, nutrient-filled water. The station becomes a social hub—members pause between sets, chat after classes, and treat refills as part of their routine. The variety keeps hydration interesting without adding unwanted calories or artificial ingredients.
A casual approach to water doesn’t hold up anymore, with major concerns surrounding health and environmental ramifications demanding our attention. Members now understand that what they’re putting in their bodies matters as much as their workout programming. The levels of arsenic, lead, microplastics, and chemical contaminants in our water are measurable realities that impact daily health.
FloWater built a better filtration system because trust in tap water collapsed. Yanga recognized that people want hydration to feel less utilitarian and more enjoyable. These companies built solutions that align with what gym members want and need.Â

Exposure to extreme cold triggers a cascade of physiological responses that have caught the attention of athletes, wellness enthusiasts, and health professionals. Cryotherapy—the practice of using cold temperatures for therapeutic purposes—has gained significant traction as people search for effective ways to support recovery, manage discomfort, and enhance their overall well-being.
The appeal lies in the efficiency and the experience. Sessions typically last just two to three minutes, during which the body’s surface temperature drops rapidly while core temperature remains stable. This controlled cold exposure may support circulation, potentially aid muscle recovery, and leave users feeling energized. For those seeking alternative wellness practices, cryotherapy has emerged as a compelling option that fits seamlessly into busy schedules.
Whole-body cryotherapy chambers create an environment where temperatures can reach as low as -200°F. During these short sessions, the body responds to the cold by redirecting blood flow toward vital organs, which may help reduce inflammation markers throughout the system. Once the session ends and the body warms back up, oxygen-rich blood returns to the extremities, potentially supporting the body’s natural recovery processes.
Athletes have been among the earliest adopters, using cryotherapy between training sessions or competitions. However, the practice has expanded beyond sports performance and is now being adopted in more mainstream facilities. People dealing with chronic discomfort, those looking to support their skin health, and individuals simply seeking a wellness boost have incorporated cryotherapy into their routines. The brevity of each session makes it accessible for those with packed schedules, and it doesn’t require getting wet or changing like cold plunges do.Â
Research continues to explore the full range of effects, but users report feeling more alert, experiencing less stiffness, and noticing improvements in their overall sense of well-being. The cold exposure triggers a mild stress response that some believe supports the body’s adaptive processes. Whether used as part of a recovery protocol or as a standalone wellness practice, cryotherapy offers a unique approach to self-care.
Since establishing itself nearly two decades ago, MECOTEC has built a reputation for precision engineering in cryotherapy equipment. Based in Germany with operations now spanning multiple continents, the company has installed more than 1,200 chambers worldwide. Their electric whole-body systems represent a shift from earlier nitrogen-based models, offering more consistent temperature control and operational reliability.
I experienced this firsthand at Beyond Activ in Dallas, Texas, on October 2nd, 2025. Stepping into the MECOTEC chamber brought back memories of being in a Minnesota winter—minus the wind and wet snow. The cold was intense but dry, a strange sensation that became almost meditative. What struck me most was how I felt afterward: despite being surrounded by the bustling energy of an expo hall filled with conversations, demonstrations, and constant movement, I felt genuinely calm and centered. That sense of regulation stayed with me for the rest of the day.
MECOTEC’s product lineup addresses different scales and applications. The cryo:one is the standard chamber with generous interior space, while the cryo:one plus expands that footprint even further. For facilities with space constraints, the cryoair flex provides a compact professional solution. High-volume operations can opt for the cryoair multi, a system capable of accommodating more than 30 users per hour across multiple chambers.
Their cold air devices offer targeted application. These units deliver adjustable airflow and maintain consistent cooling to specific body areas while allowing the treated region to remain accessible and mobile. This approach provides a higher cooling gradient than ice packs without the risk of tissue freezing, making it particularly useful for localized applications in sports training facilities, wellness studios, and beauty centers.
The company’s engineering capabilities extend into industrial applications as well. MECOTEC designs and manufactures ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems for businesses requiring reliable cold storage down to -125°C. These custom solutions serve industries where maintaining specific temperature ranges affects product quality and regulatory compliance. From pharmaceutical storage to food processing, MECOTEC’s industrial systems bring the same precision engineering that made their wellness chambers successful.
MECOTEC established its U.S. presence in 2019 with facilities initially in Anderson, South Carolina, before relocating its headquarters to New Braunfels, Texas, in 2024. This expansion shows their commitment to local support, with certified technicians available to assist customers nationwide. Rather than just selling equipment, the company works with clients to design solutions based on specific needs and business models, including on-site consultations for space planning and technical implementation.
The company’s emphasis on electric systems over nitrogen-based alternatives speaks to the focus on operational consistency and safety. Electric chambers eliminate the need for liquid nitrogen storage and refills, reducing ongoing costs and logistical complexity. Temperature control remains precise throughout each session, and maintenance requirements decrease compared to older technologies.
Standing in that MECOTEC chamber at Beyond Activ, surrounded by minus-200-degree air, I wasn’t thinking about industry trends or market positioning. I was focused on my breath, on the strange sensation of my skin tightening, on whether I could make it the full three minutes. That immediate, visceral experience—and the unexpected calm that followed—captures something essential about why cryotherapy continues to attract people despite its seemingly counterintuitive premise.
We spend so much time seeking comfort, optimizing our environments, and avoiding discomfort wherever possible. Cryotherapy flips that script entirely. It asks you to embrace intense cold, to trust that your body knows how to respond, to find benefit in temporary stress. Whether the effects stem from physiological responses, the mental reset that comes from tackling something difficult, or a combination of both, there’s value in occasionally stepping outside our temperature-controlled comfort zones. Sometimes the most memorable wellness experiences are the ones that challenge us most directly.

Performance fabrics have become standard in athletic wear, promising to wick away sweat and resist stains. But there’s a problem lurking beneath the surface of many of these garments: PFAS chemicals, also known as “forever chemicals.” While you’re focused on improving your health through exercise, the very clothing designed to support your fitness goals might be working against you.
The activewear market has long used synthetic materials treated with PFAS to achieve that coveted moisture-wicking effect. These chemicals help fabrics repel water and resist stains, making them attractive to manufacturers and consumers. However, the cost of this convenience isn’t coming from the price tag, it could be costing you your fertility or putting you at risk for cancer. Luckily, brands like TONA exist to address this serious gap and offer PFAS-free leggings that don’t compromise on quality.Â
PFAS stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a family of thousands of synthetic chemicals that have earned this nickname because they don’t break down naturally in the environment or in your body. Manufacturers have used these chemicals in athletic wear since the 1950s, treating fabrics to make them water-resistant, stain-resistant, and capable of wicking moisture away from the skin during physical activity.Â
The application process involves coating fabric fibers with PFAS compounds, which create a protective barrier. This barrier keeps liquids from penetrating the fabric, pushing sweat away from your skin rather than allowing it to soak in. For athletic wear companies, this technology solved a significant problem in keeping active people comfortable during workouts. But solving one problem created another that isn’t talked about as frequently.
Research has linked PFAS exposure to a disturbing array of health issues. These chemicals can disrupt menstrual cycles and fertility, trigger early onset of menopause, and may cause complications during pregnancy and fetal development. Studies have also connected PFAS to increased risks of multiple cancers, including ovarian cancer. The chemicals accumulate in your body over time, building up with each exposure. And because PFAS don’t degrade, they persist in your bloodstream and organs for years, even decades.
PFAS chemicals transfer from fabric to skin through direct contact, especially when you’re sweating and your pores are open. During a typical workout, when your body temperature rises and you perspire, your skin becomes particularly receptive to absorbing whatever substances it contacts. Those same properties that make PFAS-treated leggings feel so comfortable during exercise also make them efficient delivery systems for chemicals you definitely don’t want in your body.
What makes this situation particularly troubling is how widespread the problem has become. PFAS appear in athletic wear from brands across every price point, from budget options to premium labels. Most consumers are unaware that they repeatedly expose themselves to these chemicals every time they exercise, which for many people means multiple times per week.
Founder and CEO David Dean and the founding designer of lululemon understood that you shouldn’t have to choose between high-performance athletic wear and your health. After creating the number one and two best-selling leggings in the world and serving as Head of Global Women’s Sportswear at Nike, she knew exactly what made great leggings work. They also knew the industry could do better.
TONA leggings deliver exceptional performance without relying on PFAS chemicals. The company invested heavily in developing custom body-hugging fabric that provides all-day comfort, compression, lift, and support through superior textile engineering rather than chemical treatments. Their fabric costs 60 percent more than standard activewear materials, but this investment yields strong, soft, dense fibers that stay squat-proof without requiring PFAS coatings.
The company’s commitment to safety extends throughout its entire manufacturing process. TONA has its leggings tested by third-party laboratories to verify complete PFAS freedom, providing documentation that its products contain none of these harmful substances. This verification matters because some brands claiming to be PFAS-free still use related compounds that pose similar risks.
TONA’s Stay-up Technology prevents the frustrating sliding and shifting that many leggings experience during workouts, achieving this stability through pattern design and fabric construction rather than chemical treatments. The seams feature 40 percent greater elasticity than standard leggings, allowing you to move with your body through any activity. After innumerable fittings and pattern adjustments, TONA finally achieved the fit that the industry had been missing.
The leggings also address another problem prevalent in the activewear industry: limited size ranges. TONA offers sizes 00 through 24, acknowledging that 68 percent of American women wear size 14 or above. Every size receives the same attention to fit and performance, with the premium high-denier fabric providing appropriate support and coverage across the entire range.
Customer feedback consistently highlights the difference between TONA and other brands. Reviews mention the superior fit, lasting comfort, and noticeable quality of construction. Many customers report switching from other premium brands after trying TONA, noting that they finally found leggings that deliver on performance promises without the nagging concern about chemical exposure. If you want to try the leggings for yourself, you can use TONACLEAN20 to score 20 percent off of a pair of leggings.Â
TONA also manufactures its leggings with Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certification, ensuring production under safe, legal, and ethical conditions. This certification covers everything from prohibiting child and forced labor to ensuring proper compensation, limited work hours, health and safety standards, and environmental responsibility.
Not to mention, a portion of revenue from the company goes towards supporting mental health counseling for teens. David Dean tragically lost a family member to suicide, and has since been on a mission to improve teen mental health and provide accessibility to counseling to help teens in need.Â
Your workout routine should support your health goals, not undermine them. The fitness industry has spent years optimizing nutrition, training protocols, and recovery strategies, yet many people unknowingly sabotage these efforts every time they pull on PFAS-treated leggings. The chemicals absorbed through your skin during each workout accumulate silently, potentially affecting systems throughout your body.
The good news is that choosing PFAS-free athletic wear like TONA doesn’t mean sacrificing performance or settling for inferior products. Quality activewear can achieve moisture management, compression, and durability through superior materials and construction rather than chemical shortcuts. As awareness grows about the risks posed by forever chemicals, the activewear industry faces a choice to continue prioritizing convenience, or invest in developing products that support wellness. The companies that choose the latter approach, building exceptional products without compromising health, deserve support from consumers who understand that wellness encompasses everything we put in and on our bodies.

Fitness wearables promised to deliver clarity, including precise metrics that would help people understand their bodies and make better health decisions. But for some, they’ve created mountains of data that many don’t know how to interpret or act on. Your watch indicates that your heart rate variability is low, your sleep score has dropped, and your recovery metrics are in the red. Great. What are you supposed to do about it?
This gap between data collection and practical application has become one of the most pressing challenges for the fitness industry. People wear devices that track everything from REM cycles to respiratory rates, yet they’re left staring at colorful graphs and cryptic numbers without any real understanding of what comes next. The technology outpaced the education, leaving users with information but no roadmap for improvement.
A handful of companies have recognized this frustration and started building solutions that actually address the “what now” problem. Empower Sleep stands out as a prime example of how data interpretation should work. Their platform breaks down sleep metrics into digestible insights and pairs that information with a dedicated team of specialists who help users improve their sleep quality through specific, actionable guidance.
This approach acknowledges that raw data means nothing without context and direction. Knowing your deep sleep percentage dropped by 15 percent matters only if someone can explain why that happened and what you can do to fix it. Empower Sleep’s model treats data as the starting point instead of the end goal, recognizing that the real value lies in translating numbers into behaviors that drive improvement.
Other companies are starting to follow suit, offering coaching services alongside their tracking capabilities or building AI-powered recommendations into their apps. These solutions recognize that most people require assistance in connecting the dots between their metrics and their daily choices. The shift represents a maturation of the wearables market, a recognition that technology without education creates frustration.
Personal trainers and coaches have a massive opportunity to step into this gap and become the interpreters their clients desperately need. While technology companies scramble to build better explanation systems, fitness professionals already possess the knowledge and relationship foundation to help clients make sense of their data and put it to use.
Take HRV as an example. A client’s wearable might show declining heart rate variability, but that number means nothing without context. A coach can explain that HRV measures the variation in time between heartbeats—essentially indicating how well the nervous system adapts to stress. Low HRV often signals that the body is struggling with recovery, whether from overtraining, poor sleep, chronic stress, or inadequate nutrition.
The real value lies in the next step: providing clients with practical ways to improve those metrics. For HRV, coaches can introduce breathwork techniques, such as box breathing or coherent breathing, that directly influence nervous system regulation. They can discuss stress management strategies, help clients establish consistent self-care routines that include adequate sun exposure, guide them toward improved sleep hygiene, and adjust training intensity based on their recovery status. These interventions turn abstract data points into concrete actions that produce measurable results.
Sleep data presents another clear opportunity. Clients frequently report their sleep scores without understanding what factors might be contributing to those numbers. Coaches can help them establish wind-down routines that signal the body to prepare for rest—such as dimming lights an hour before bed, limiting screen time, and keeping bedrooms cool and dark. They can suggest herbal tea blends that promote relaxation, discuss the importance of consistent sleep and wake times, and help clients identify behaviors that interfere with quality rest. These recommendations address the root causes and provide actionable insights.Â
Recovery metrics, resting heart rate, stress scores, calorie expenditure—every data point a wearable tracks represents a conversation waiting to happen. Coaches who learn to read and interpret this information become invaluable partners in their clients’ health journeys. They can spot patterns that clients miss, identify when metrics suggest underlying issues that need attention, and adjust training programs to align with what the data reveals about a client’s current state.
The coaching relationship offers something no app or AI system can fully replicate: the personalized guidance that takes into account individual circumstances, goals, and constraints. A generic recommendation to “reduce stress” doesn’t help much, but a coach who knows a client’s work schedule, family situation, and preferred activities can suggest specific, realistic strategies that fit into their life. That specificity makes all the difference between advice that sounds good and advice that gets implemented.
The wearables industry has given us unprecedented access to our bodies’ inner workings, but information without direction creates paralysis instead of empowering individuals. People need someone who can help them understand what their data means and show them exactly what to do about it.
Coaches and trainers are perfectly positioned to fill this role, bridging the gap between technology and human understanding. The professionals who embrace this opportunity and develop their data interpretation skills will find themselves indispensable to clients who are drowning in metrics but starving for clarity—the “what now” dilemma requires knowledgeable guides who can take numbers and turn them into action.

Dr. Cooper founded The Cooper Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization that opened in 1970, and established the Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas—an eight-entity health and wellness operation.
Day Two opened with Mohammed Iqbal, Chairman of Sweatworks and CSO of ABC Fitness, in conversation with Joe De Sena, Founder and CEO of Spartan. Their fireside chat, titled “Unbreakable—The Spartan View on Grit, Growth, and Leadership,” examined what separates companies that endure from those that fold under pressure.
A keynote panel called “Franchise Frenzy—How Fast Growing Brands Can Scale Without Fizzling Out” brought together Corey Loehr from Hapana, Jorg Fockenberg from RSG Group, Kamille McCollum from BODYBAR Pilates, Paul Bowman from Wexer, and Ross Campbell from Beyond Activ. They shared practical insights on maintaining quality and culture during rapid expansion, which is a challenge familiar to anyone who has watched brands struggle under the weight of their own growth.
The closing keynote panel, “Fixing Your Financials—How to Crush Churn, Maximize Sales and Improve Your Bottom Line,” featured Cheryl Barnett from Chuze Fitness, Eddie Tock from REX, Michel Kolling (boutique studio owner), and Yael Dornbusch from Zumba Fitness. Their conversation addressed the financial realities facing operators today, from member retention to revenue optimization.
A final networking hour concluded the event, providing attendees with one last opportunity to exchange ideas, share contact information, and discuss plans for collaboration before heading home.
The value of gathering like Beyond Activ Americas shows up weeks and months after the event ends. Partnerships discussed in Dallas often result in signed agreements. Problems aired during panel discussions spark solutions developed through new connections. The fitness and wellness sectors move forward because people took time to show up, listen, and build relationships that withstand the inevitable challenges ahead.
Dr. Cooper’s Lifetime Achievement Award carried particular weight during this gathering. His work established foundational principles that continue guiding how we think about exercise and health. Celebrating his legacy while simultaneously addressing current industry challenges created a through-line from past to future—a reminder that lasting impact comes from consistent dedication to improving how people move, feel, and live. Dallas proved that meaningful progress happens when industry leaders commit to showing up, engaging deeply, and doing the hard work of building something better together.
